Guest Elektritter Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Hi, since modaco 2.0 I get while syncing crashes from android.process.acore. with adb logcat I get following: D/Sync ( 1029): skipping photo edit for unsynced contact W/dalvikvm( 1029): threadid=27: thread exiting with uncaught exception (group=0x40013140) E/AndroidRuntime( 1029): Uncaught handler: thread SyncThread exiting due to uncaught exception E/AndroidRuntime( 1029): java.lang.NullPointerException E/AndroidRuntime( 1029): at com.android.providers.contacts.ContactsSyncAdapter.cursorToContactsElement(Conta tsSyncAdapter.java:846) E/AndroidRuntime( 1029): at com.android.providers.contacts.ContactsSyncAdapter.addContactMethodsToContactEnt y(ContactsSyncAdapter.java:740) E/AndroidRuntime( 1029): at com.android.providers.contacts.ContactsSyncAdapter.cursorToContactEntry(Contacts yncAdapter.java:640) E/AndroidRuntime( 1029): at com.android.providers.contacts.ContactsSyncAdapter.cursorToEntryImpl(ContactsSyn Adapter.java:605) E/AndroidRuntime( 1029): at com.android.providers.contacts.ContactsSyncAdapter.cursorToEntry(ContactsSyncAda ter.java:597) E/AndroidRuntime( 1029): at com.google.android.providers.AbstractGDataSyncAdapter.sendClientDiffsImpl(Abstra tGDataSyncAdapter.java:917) E/AndroidRuntime( 1029): at com.android.providers.contacts.ContactsSyncAdapter.sendClientDiffs(ContactsSyncA apter.java:421) E/AndroidRuntime( 1029): at android.content.TempProviderSyncAdapter$SyncThread.runSyncLoop(TempProviderSyncAdapter.java:473) E/AndroidRuntime( 1029): at android.content.TempProviderSyncAdapter$SyncThread.sync(TempProviderSyncAdapter.java:253) E/AndroidRuntime( 1029): at android.content.TempProviderSyncAdapter$SyncThread.run(TempProviderSyncAdapter.java:210) I/Process ( 81): Sending signal. PID: 1029 SIG: 3 I/dalvikvm( 1029): threadid=7: reacting to signal 3 W/ActivityManager( 81): Process android.process.acore has crashed too many times: killing! [/codebox] I have no idea what to do next - since modaco my G2 is crashing a lot so I real think about revert to the original slow, but stable ROM. Next thing: When loading and battery is full sometimes the phone freeze complete so I have to remove the battery. There a question: is it possible to get a persistent log so I can check AFTER freeze whats going wrong or paste it here? (This effects also only happens with modaco rom so I'm sure it is not a hardware problem!) thanx for some tipps E.
Guest JulesB Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 I got repeated android.process.acore crashes when I was restoring my contacts using Sprite Backup using the HTC Generic 2.73.405.5 core, so it might not be an modaco specific issue. However, once the restore was completed and I had restarted the phone it has worked perfectly. Jules
Guest Stevie B Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 I went from modaco 1.5 -> 2.0c -> 1.5 2.0c caused a lot of force closes and generally was unstable for me. More than happy with 1.5 however :) Lets face it people we are experimenting here aren't we! It won't allways go smoothly...
Guest JulesB Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Did any of you try a wipe? I did a wipe before the install. It was only a problem while I was restoring my contacts (there were no problems with settings) and I have had no further problems (now three days on). Jules

Jules I'd made wipe before install, wipe after first crashes. What I did yesterday evening: I removed a new contact created on phone, sync worked. Re-Created contact in google, sync, contact appears on phone and works. I'll try creating a new contact again this day and see if it happens again. But this is real not nice, And exact this moment my android freezes while loading on usb. :) No, not freeze: it rebootet itself - is there any chance getting a persistent log looking for whats going wrong?????
