Guest Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 (edited) I gather that a few people are having issues with this and have just done an SD Card Format, Wipe and Update to 2.2 and the problem's still there. Has anyone who's had the issue managed to work out how to get rid of it? Edited September 10, 2009 by Guest

Guest Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Seems to be that the screen is trying to display the time/reception and that the text input window is being pushed down to make room then shifts back up afterwards with each keypress. Is there a buried option to set the display of that info that's conflicting?

After a phone reboot I have not seen it since.
Guest Paul Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Has anyone flashed stock 2.73.405.5 and confirmed it remains an issue? P
Guest JulesB Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 (edited) Has anyone flashed stock 2.73.405.5 and confirmed it remains an issue? I have the stock 2.73.405.5 and have just tried entering text into the standard Messages app text boxes in landscape mode without any problems. Just to add that the notification bar showing date/time etc remains on the screen in landscape mode and can be dragged down as usual. Does is not appear all the time on the custom ROMs? J Messaging works fine for me too, I've realised it's only certain things that are affected by it, some apps, etc. Could you try pressing search (hard button) from within the browser and see if that's ok? I tried changing some settings in Spare Parts (and uninstalling and reinstalling) which seems to affect how much the keyboard wants to bounce. It just bounce away like a loon or was static until a key is pressed when I changed some settings in Spare Parts but I'm having difficulty recreating the changed state now. The notification bar is present in Portrait and initially at Landscape but scrolls off the page when in Landscape then the bouncing begins. Edited September 11, 2009 by Guest

In that case I can confirm that it is an issue using the browser in the stock 2.73.405.5 ROM. When the text box and keyboard first appears in Landscape mode there is a grey bar at the top of the (landscape) screen where the notification bar usually is. Every time a key is pressed, the box/keyboard jumps up to fill the grey bar, the Notification bar appears, the keyboard moves back down and the Notification bar slides back out of sight leaving the grey bar at the top. In portrait mode, invoking the keyboard causes the Notification bar to appear briefly then it slides back up and the keyboard and text box take up the full screen. Guest Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Good stuff guys, thanks for that. I have just read that HTC in Norway have posted an official update but are replacing it with another because there's a component missing. Perhaps this is symptomatic of that?
