Guest noylekul Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 So I've noticed that my main memory is at 82%. I deleted all text messages (there were a lot), and all MMS and all programs, music, pics, etc are all being saved on my storage. So what else could be causing my main memory to fill up? What can I get rid of do to clean it up a little?
Guest aceofrazgriz Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Under the section in Settings -> Memory, is it the Storage or the Program memory that has so little free? As you deleted most things it sounds like its the Program Memory which is the RAM, 82% used means you got too many programs running at once, and need to make use of a task manager programs. That, or restart your phone more often. I'm using a 6.5 ROM and slowly over time my RAM usage will raise, even with all programs closed. Boots to 38% used, after about a day, all closed, its around 46-50%
Guest macoolit Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 im having this problem also, look at the sample picture below(not mine). Mine has only 6MB free under the storage. What could be the problem?

Guest NilsE Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 How do i see whats in used? i have 5mb left of storage. There are a number of ways you can look at it but the easiest is to use file explorer and look at what programs are installed in device/Program Files. I would bet that many of them are programs you installed and too the defauly of "device" for the install location. There are very few programs that need to be in device like spb Mobile Shell, S2U2, and any other highly used applications. So, see what you have installed that is a candidate for My Store or even Storage card and remove them and reinstall to other than device. The best way is to use something like MemMaid to evaluate your usage
Guest meabigbaldguy Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 From the pictures that I've seen, either of you are probably confusing your device's internal memory (as pictured), with My Storage, which is the actual hard drive. If you're saving photos, programs, and other stuff in the internal memory, then yes, it will fill up fast. Otherwise, this shouldn't happen with an 8gb or 16gb hard drive, unless you have indeed loaded a LOT of stuff onto it. For example, I have just about all of my apps, a few hundred or so photos, a lot of songs, and I still haven't used half of my 16 gb storage space.

What can I get rid of do to clean it up a little? Storage reads Total: 92.11mb In use: 73.01mb Free: 19.10mb Program Reads Total: 97.11mb In Use:51.94mb Free: 45.17mb I'm always using my task manager and closing things, i never let to many things run. How do I install S2U2 to my storage instead of on my main memory? it doesn't give me th option when I go to install it Also I deleted some programs/apps and moved some programs/apps to my storage, the only thing left are the programs that came on the phone and S2U2, but I still only gained .82mb Edited October 2, 2009 by noylekul
