Unable to Connect to Microsoft Activesync 4.5

Need help...

Oh Dear, i have no idea what is going wrong here. I have downloaded and installed the Microsft Activesync 4.5 and the samsung modem driver for XP and then restarted the PC.

But when i connect my Omnia to the PC via USB, it mentions that " an error occured during the installtion and your device might not work properly "

The microsoft activesync is not detecting it.

My oh my....this sounds so stupid...

What have i done:

1. Remove Microsoft activesync ( restarted pc ) and modem driver and then reinstall them. (Still does not work)

2. Hard reset my Omnia and redo step one.

3. redo step one, reconnect my device 2-3 times but still does not work.

Anyone got any idea what is going on ? The problem seems so small yet so frustrating.... :)

Try a different USB port?

Try without the modem drivers?

Check all connection settings having to do with Activesync/USB?

Make sure Activesync connection settings allow USB?

Using Samsung USB cable or third-party?

Does the phone charge when plugged in via USB? How about wall outlet charger?

Headphone or any other S20 pin connectors work fully?
