So, right now I have an Omnia I910 and I would kinda like to upgrade to something else.

The Touch Pro 2 just came out for us Verizon users and it looks super cool to me.

But should I wait for some other device or is the touch pro 2 good?

Thanks :)

touch pro 2:

Highs: Gigantic, extra-sharp display; outstanding call quality; solid build quality; decent accessory pack; dressed-up interface

Lows: Exceptionally weak camera; clumsy resistive touch screen; no keyboard backlighting; dry design

Hope it helps you make your decision.

The camera is pretty sad... but the keyboard buttons are back lit...

On reviews I watched they said it had white and green LED's for the back lit keys.

I think this is a common dilema for many. TP2 looks pretty awesome to me.

I am waiting for the Omnia2 and will play with each in hand to decide. By that time, they will have a few android to play with.

Oh yeah, and the TD2(whitestone).

So in a nutshell, if you can wait until Oct/Nov? there will be many choices and you won't be disappointed in your decision.

good luck,

chris

I'm pretty sure if you want to save up, you'll see alot of phones flying into the markets around Jan/Feb 2010 if WM7 is released by then. If not, then at least by Dec we'll see some great new phones.

For sure TP2 is great and worth buying, but there's a lot new smart-phones coming this autumn. So I suggest You to wait a bit, at least the price should be lower.

Okay thanks guys, my 2 year upgrade isn't till like Nov 5th anyway.

I'll wait it out and see what phones come to the table.

As I said in the other thread, having just played with the HTC Touch Pro 2 at my local Vodafone store, I was very disappointed with the hardware. Compared to the i900 the TP2 felt very plasticy and when the hardware keyboard was pulled out the screen was loose and wobbly. Fair enough, this was a demo unit that probably gets handled a lot, but I would expect to use the keyboard on a regular basis, so it didn't make a good impression.

That and the weak camera.
