Found this over at Xda as well. SmileySMS; you simply install it to the device and it gives you a much more aesthetically pleasing SMS experience. It works on all new and old messages.

Cab attached.

I went into the setting menu and chose iphone skin,.. and there is no difference compared to the original skin. Weird.

Great APP though..really like it!

I remember having some issues when I tried this a while ago, it may have been an older version though. It made texting really, really slow; it would take minutes to open messaging. I'll give it a shot later, hopefully that was fixed :)

Anyone finding a bug with threading? When I receive a text from someone I already have texted in my inbox, it comes in as a new text....only....it's on top of the one already there.

Try this.

Text a friend. Do not delete the conversation.

Have them text you back. Open it, read..close it. Now delete it.

Is your original text conversation still there?

Nah I don't have any problems with the threading. I like the new way the options are displayed with it when you click the name of the sms sender.... but i really don't like the fact that you can't use kinetic scrolling at all in the msg's (it just defaults to a text selection mode).

Hi, I am new to this and I have an Omnia I900. I did download and install this app. However, is there a way to set up an Icon or Button to go directly to SMS without having to go to my contacts then choosing Send SMS, etc.?

Thank you for your help as I do appreciate it.

Do you mean a button to go directly to you inbox or to the New SMS screen?? You can map a hardware button to you messages by going to Settings -> Personal -> Buttons and changing the options there.

Otherwise, depending on which UI you're using, you might be able to create a shortcut to your messages (I know that SPB mobile shell, PointUI, WAD 2 and even Titanium can do this).
