USB Tethering Problems...

I have a 6.5 CF03 ROM with ICS installed. WHen I hit connect, my PC does not register anything (i.e. in Network Devices, nothing shows up).

Do you have to have certain things set up on the phone as far as Data Connection (internal call or modem as USB), USB (ActiveSync or Mass Storage), USB to PC (enable advanced functionality)? I have tried every possible combination, but nothing gets the PC to respond. I take it once you plug into the PC, the PC should detect a USB modem at which point you hit conenct on the phone.

I know about WMwifirouter, etc, but I really want to get USB tethering working using ICS before I try these other approaches.

Also, how do you install the USB modem drivers? Is that what the Verizon Access Manager install accomplishes?
