Guest martinsa Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 In this article on the new Omnia: http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Mobile-and-Wirele...-Lineup-863312/ it says: "...Samsung additionally announced that all currently available Omnia models will be upgraded to run the OS as well..." :-)
Guest z3ntn3l Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 "The update to Windows Mobile 6.5 will include the Omnia II, coming to Verizon Wireless, the OmniaPro B7610 and the non-U.S. OmniaPro B7320."

I'm pretty sure it will include the original Omnia judging by what is said in the article. Basically it states that the "whole" Omnia range will be updated. Anyways, I wonder how it's going to turn out.
Guest Slappa Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 Check here - http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/17/samsung...5-plans-for-en/ - they state they'll update all the current range of Omnias, and give the numbers as well....no mention of the i900 :)
Guest meabigbaldguy Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 What does it matter anyway? When we have such great ROM chefs that have already been using 6.5 for the last year already. Sure, the build numbers have changed, but for a typical user the differences can be so insignificant that they are hardly noticeable.

Our ROMs are far superior to any official Samsung ROM update. I think at the very least Samsung should hire all of our ROM cooks to help with any new ROMs. :) Samsung's official update to 6.5 will probably not include much at all besides the OS update. If it does, you can be sure that our cooks will find the best out of it and make it better. And to be honest, I don't think we'll get an official 6.5 upgrade since our model(s) (i900,i910) were released nearly a year ago. But who needs an official upgrade when we have new versions of 6.5 and better cooks than Samsung will ever have?
Guest adzrm Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 Zealster after many months of cooked 6.5 ROMs i went back to 6.1 xiib3 official... very very stable and really fast... so there i room for improvement! and if the chefs are able to do a great job with unofficial and unsupported ROMs when official ROMs will be available they will be able to do an even greater job!!!

Thank You
Guest jeffrey2000 Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 Where can i get 6.5 for my Samsung I900??? Thank You well you could try the rom section here :)
Guest StarVision Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 I am especting Samsung to release driver for Finger Mouse....i miss the mouse ... and make samsung widgets support WM6.5~
Guest WoZZeR999 Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 Actually, from a Rom makers point of view, we really want wm6.5 to be released. The standard wm6.5 doesn't really work, we have to change a bunch of files to be able for it to boot on our phones. If we had a true wm6.5, we would get even more performance out of our phones (on top of where we've got it already)
Guest gayflag Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 Dont listen to WOz, he is full of poop :)

Fingermouse Zoomer Samsung Today 2 LED light turn/on from todayscreen/press hold button In fact it are these same reasons why I bought my black 16GB Omnia last month instead of waiting for the i8000 now. I really hate that stupid cube. Samsung is like a headless chicken. They have no goddamn direction to where they want to go. Are they going for Touchwiz? Cubeshit? Or Today screen? Are they going for much onboard storage or nothing? They start acting like that bloody HTC... there's ALWAYS something missing from their fones... If Samshit doesn't get their act together and stop flooding the market with every jackshit pda/smartfone and then not supporting them, I'm outa here. Time to get a dumbfone from Sony ericsson again for 150 euro's instead of this +500 euro's crap. I mean come on... My K550i is ancient tech and can... -Voice dailing (EVEN from bluetooth headset) -LED light (with SOS feature) -memo and call recording (and no fooling around. It records both receiving and sending party) -agenda (synchronisable with outlook) -adresbook (synchronisable with outlook) -Games (sure they're JAVA games but hey, it's games) -it's FAST (Yes even those JAVA games) -The cam is lousy indoor but great outdoor... and lets be honest 2MB is enough, really. -Opera (mini) works great on it. -it can get emails too and the battery last more than a bloody week. It's just not a 3G-fone so surfing and email is slow. But I'd welcome a deathmatch between the Omnia II and any other dumbfone like C510 (which appart from that gimmick screen and touch probably can match it feature wise) Oh man...
Guest Billus Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 Dont listen to WOz, he is full of poop :) You do realise that WoZZeR is a rom builder (I think). At any rate, he has his own 6.5 kitchen which you can check out here. I think you the one full of poop dear sir :)
Guest [email protected] Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 Im sure Verizon will never get it. It was like pulling teeth just to get them to unlock the gps and update the rom.
