Any way to turn off ModemStatus on my i910?

I am currently tethering my Omnia i910 to my laptop via bluetooth and I am curious if there is any way to turn off the modemstatus screen? Even if I blank my screen out, after a few minutes it will light back up to my S2U2 screen and stay lit until I blank it out again. I am sure this uses a huge amount of my battery going on and off like that, but I see no obvious way to turn it off. Ideas?

still doing it.. Any ideas what settings I might need to change? Its really annoying for it to blank out and then see it out of the corner of my eye waking back up.
