Guest compnird Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 I use BW's Night 1.4 with MS3 mainly because it had the Mobile Shell already built in and works well. But I really want to use Sector's AllinOne commmanager with Wifi Sharing but it doesn't seem to work on this prebuilt version. I am pretty sure because it already has the Original Comm Manager loaded in and this is a modified version of the same. My questions are; 1. Is there a base build of one of the newer windows mobile versions that has the start bar at the top? MS3 seems to have issues with the bottom placement of the start menu. I'd love a Slim ROM with the 16mb Pagepool but they all have the bottom placed 'Windows Phone' bar. 2. Does anyone have the same issues I am having with MS3 and the newer cooked ROMs or am I the only one who wants to keep Mobile Shell 3.01 and have a newer WinMo 6.5.1 build? Has anyone overcome this obstacle already? Any suggestions or help is appreciated. If you know of a way to get the AIO Comm Manager working on my current load then I will be golden.

The WiFi router program has issues on the newer builds too so don't think going up to 6.5.1 is going to help you. 1. No. All of the newer builds use the newer GUI with the start menu on the bottom. 2. Nothing really wrong with MS3 in the newer builds. You can slave the start menu to a hard key or use the built in menu of MS3. The only other noted issue us a 10 pixel line that the background does not cover. There are images already posted to show you what I mean.

It's extremely stable so I wouldn't want to screw that up with something that is sketchy. USB tethering works just fine and BT is adequate if I don't have my cable. I very much appreciate your straightforward answers! You are an asset to the Omnia community and when I get paid I will try to send you some more money for a Pepsi even though as you know I think Coke is better... to each their own. :D
Guest bosshoss16 Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Thank you blazingwolf, I never thought about mapping the start menu to a key. I think I may start using MS3 again. I really want multiple calendar entries on the main screen and the only app I have found is MS. I also want to keep using java and flash so I need WM6.5. But I, too, was having trouble with the start menu. Thanks!!!

Just FYI, BW answered this already but I went about it a bit differently. I use MS3 w all the new ROMS. I am using the WM7 theme from the guys at mobile custom here. It has a dedicated start menu like Vista at the bottom left and gives you a Vista like menu when you tap it. you can select a bunch of spb menus from there. Oh yeah and check out the first thread in the forum for the french->english translator. Edited September 22, 2009 by monsterpt

Thanks for pointing it out. :)

Thanks for the tip!
