Guest jethrodesign Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 Hi, I've been demoing the VITO SMS-Chat application, which I like very much. The threads are much easier to read than the built-in WinMo application. But I've found that I only end up in SMS-Chat about 1/2 the time when I'm trying to text someone. If I receive a text and SMS-Chat displays it, then I'm OK and can respond. But if I'm in PhoneBook (or one of the other contact apps) and hit 'send sms message' to a contact, it will usually launch the built-in app. I also use the Manilla 2D interface if that makes a difference. I have found a way to map the 'All Messages' soft key to SMS-Chat, but it only launches the app. When I click on a message in M2D, or hit the new message icon, it launches the default WinMo app. - Any way to get this to work? I don't mind hacking the registry if someone tells me where to go. Thanks. I really prefer this interface over the ugly WinMo built-in, but I'm not willing to spend money on it if it only works when I specifically launch it and start there.

Guest azazellor Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 Doesn´t work for me... SMS-Chat installed in main memory?
Guest .Ejekt Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 Place VitoChatFix.exe into \Windows folder and import .reg file to registry. Will this work on titanium as well? Been trying to work SMS-Chat into the CHome panel for a while now to no avail.
Guest Redmanll34 Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 Will this work on titanium as well? Been trying to work SMS-Chat into the CHome panel for a while now to no avail. are you trying to launch sms-chat to the ms default panel chome or ctext? i don't think it is possible. if i have read it right the way they made the notification and panel you'd be hard pressed to find all the registry/dll/cpr files to make this happen. I'd start searching for a way to make a custom panel and add the notification to it. This seems to have been done, jmltoday plugin sorta does this. goodluck
Guest jethrodesign Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 Hmmm, I put the .exe file in the right place, but I'm unsure about how to import the .reg file. I have PHM Registry Editor, but the 'import' command is grayed out. If I double click the .reg file, PHM opens, but nothing happens (and again, the import link in Tools is grayed out. So how do you import the file? Is it a lot of settings that need to change (maybe I can just do them manually)? And concerning the placement of the SMS-Chat program file, it is currently in '/My Storage/Program Files/VITO/SMS-Chat/'. Is this OK? I hope I don't need to uninstall and reinstall in the main Device memory, as that is pretty low right now. Thanks. I'll let you know if I get it working.
