Guest Morfex Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 (edited) Hi there, I've just sent in my Omnia to Samsung because of a faulty touch screen and therefore had to flash my rom to an official firmware. It wasn't as easy as I thought, but after an Odyssey through numerous forums I did it. It only worked with the Singapore rom for me. At the beginning I had SHokka rom v.21: DXID1/SHKv21 (XXHH9). Here is how it worked for me: 1. Download the Singapore firmware DZIA5 from http://www.samsungmobile.com/support/omnia/index.jsp I downloaded the XP version; whilst there, also download Active Sync. 2. Change the phone to Singapore (thanks to http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-general...sion-tutorial/)Press the 'dial' key to the left of the optical pad to bring up the dialerWith the onscreen keypad input *#1546792*#Select 'Preconfiguration'Enter code *#81230*# and select OKSelect 'Singapore', with the default OperatorAccept this, DEVICE WILL HARD RESET3. Sync your phone with active sync. Backup your files! The phone will be formatted! 4. Download and install Total Commander on your phone. http://mobile2day.xonio.com/platform_wince/device/Samsung/SGH-i900+Omnia/produkt.html?id=145819&noreload=1 5. Open Total Commander and change the registry entry at \\plugins (...) \HotkeyCurrentUser\Control Panel\Version\CustomVersion to either DZHK3 or DXHK3 DXHK3 worked for me; case-sensitive! 6. Connect your phone to Active Sync and run the Update! 7. Change back to your country with step 2. ...and hopefully you're back on an official rom! I hope this helps someone. It took me forever to figure it out :) Greets, Morfex Edited September 23, 2009 by Morfex

I wanted to revert to the german official rom, but there it's the same. There is some trick to download the upgrade by inserting an older "current version", then hex-editing the update.exe and so on, but it didn't work for me, so I just downloaded the Singapore rom which is english aswell and has no disadvantage to the uk version, as far as I could see. Just try it. Even then it'll be easier to switch to the uk rom, if you really want to. The link to the other way with hex-editing the update.exe is here: http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-general...rsion-tutorial/

Now im back to original rom my phone came with, not as flash but i must admit its proving to be sensitive and quick. Came with extra software too that my original rom didnt have like google maps and SHOZU ??? i just need Divx player and im looking now for language packs for Igo8 text to speech in English. Tried loading some new themes to try and make it more exciting but the normal rom would not allow animated themes which sucks, but such is life for now.
Guest Scenarium Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 Thank you so much!! it totally worked
