Evening all.

I have setup gmails push email this week moving away from the 5 minute polling but for some reason, the messages dont always ping through to the phone when they arrive. sometimes its minutes later other times its instant...

Is there still some bugs

are other users having the same experience

Generally the email should appear on your device within a few seconds. But if there's interference with your mobile Internet connection, then it could be a few minutes before you see the message. The way ActiveSync works is that the phone first opens a connection to the server and maintains this open connection. When an email arrives, the server notifies the phone through this open connection to synchronize. After a certain number of minutes (I forget how many), the server sends a notice to the phone so the phone can verify that the connection is still active. If the connection is broken during this time, it may take the phone a few minutes to realize that and reestablish the connection.

There's also the possibility of a delay on Google's side. Since they just recently opened this service to everyone, they may still have a few kinks to work out.

thanks for this, I will keep an eye on ActivSync.. I am hoping Google is at fault as well. I know when I had it synching to work, via exchange server it was flawless. no disrespect to Google though, there team are like aliens bring the best of the web experience for free.....
