Sorting contacts by last name

I tried searching, but couldn't find any info on the possibility of sorting my contacts by last name. I have synchronised everything with outlook and the contacts are positioned by the first name (also in people vidget). I coudn't find any sorting options except for each contact individually, which doen't help as I have too many of them to handle manually. I'm on the original F/W, so may be they added this option? This is really annoying and a big drawback of this phone.

Also, I created some appointments in the calendar on the Hero, but after synchrinisation, they did not appear in Outlook. The caledar sychrinisation is ticked in the synch program. How do I fix it?
