Guest eufouria Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 (edited) Please excuse my language, but Damn! I stopped using MS3 after I flashed my first 6.5 ROM. Now I'm torn between jumping into the JMLToday options being offered with Titanium and this! Here's their video: http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/pocketpc-s...re/mobileshell/ *Edit* Woops, sorry, didn't see you had posted it already. Edited September 30, 2009 by eufouria
Guest MadDogg2288 Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 I tried it but the 3d contacts and mail dont work :S maybe there is a way to enable.... make sure you have your email and text/mms as a single widget then tap and hold the widget and choose default action that should work for ya
Guest Th3rmal Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 make sure you have your email and text/mms as a single widget then tap and hold the widget and choose default action that should work for ya That works, however when I press reply, it loads the message screen then exits to the 3d sms again :S
Guest necosino Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 I tried it but the 3d contacts and mail dont work :S maybe there is a way to enable.... I'm trying to get this to work too. Under settings - SPB Mobile Shell - System There is supposed to be a G-sensor support option, but there's not... :/ Maybe we need the HTC .dll's..
Guest Dragonsla Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 yes! that may work. I no longer even have access to change spb theme...Settings > SPB > *no theme option* As for the new 3D carousel, no sign of it in the release. Even though it never shows Contacts with the new UI, not even the tabs carousel is showing the new graphics. Also as far as the 3D mail view, I do have the feature, but it is a crappy version of what is shown on the site :S
Guest necosino Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 Still no luck even with HTC .dll's.. Does anyone have the emulator that actually showed up under the WinMo settings-system? It allowed you to calibrate your g-sensor, too.. I can't seem to find it now.
Guest Dragonsla Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 The website doesn't even say that some phones wont have all the features.....poor people who paid to upgrade.....
Guest necosino Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 The website doesn't even say that some phones wont have all the features.....poor people who paid to upgrade..... My key from 3.01 works in 3.5 :) Actually, I didn't even need to re-type it in, lol..
Guest banderdragon Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 no notification widget = fail
Guest blazingwolf Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 no notification widget = fail :) Normal notifications still show so I am failing to understand this.
Guest blazingwolf Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 The website doesn't even say that some phones wont have all the features.....poor people who paid to upgrade..... Why would this be a surprise? If it didn't work on the older version was it supposed to magically start working with this one? Kind of hard to include a hardware upgrade with the software. :)
Guest Turborepu Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 oooh the 3d messaging looks purty.. purty sluggish.. neat tho..
Guest La Traviata Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 There are a lot of tips for making the various features work over on XDA developers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...97&page=418 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=566045
Guest rigor.m Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 I like the new release a lot... Of course there is no groundbreaking feature but in my opinion MS3 was already close to perfection. Come to think of it that's what I like about my Omnia: already has everything I need, and very often you get little presents like push Gmail, new SPB, a new cool app on XDA... can't really get bored of it...

If it didn't work on the older version was it supposed to magically start working with this one? Kind of hard to include a hardware upgrade with the software. :) um...I may be wrong but I thought my omnia accepted all the features of SPB 3.0, so I naturally assumed omnia would take advantage of al the features of SPB 3.5 ....and SPB is all software, I see it uses hardware but why didn't they list the phones the features would work on...
Guest dotvicky Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 Apologies for possibly dumb question. I can't seem to install it. I get "Installation of Spb Mobile Shell.CAB was unsuccessful." both when I try to install the CAB directly or when I use the .exe from Windows. I am running: DXIA5 on PDA and DXIA2 on phone. Cheers Vicky
Guest Saluki HHI Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 Blazing Wolf will this work on your 6.5 Rom? I install it and the Lifestyle Home and Professional home are screwd up but most other screens work
Guest DJRedLine Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 This new version is really good with some cool features. Anyone been able to get facebook and twitter to work? I change my connection settings but the changes dont seem to stick and revert back to a connection that is not accepted on the facebook and twitter widgets but works on all my other apps that require access (opera etc)

Some features require hardware acceleration which the Omnia does not have. Those features have never worked on our devices nor will they ever. Those fancy features are replaced by not so fancy features that work on our device. The carousel is one example. It will look different on a device that has used hardware acceleration (mostly HTC devices) then it does on our device.

Cheers Vicky Do you have enough available memory? You will need at least 10 MB free before it will install. Realize that this is an 11MB cab file so more will be better.
