i have the i910 with Bgill55 CF03 Roms 6.5.1 build 23060 "Neo 2.0 Alpha" v3.1 loaded

i also have a blackberry 8350i from work and my friend has the htc touch

both the blackberry and htc get gps locks within a min however my omnia takes 2-5mins for a position lock

i do have a program called quickGPS loaded which is suppose to download sat positions from the internet to help with locking speeds. unless this program is causing the slowness i dont understand what the problem is

any suggestions?

what is the quality of the gps chips that are in the i910?

sorry i know this topic has been visited over and over however none of the post i have found have fixed my problem.

we all have that "problem." Deal with it or get a bluetooth GPS receiver.

ok cool as long as it is just me :)

just out of curosity is it the chip or is it the software?

can we hope that one day the software will work better or does the chip suck and we are screwed for life?

It's just a cheap GPS receiver, a Qualcomm something-or-other, lol.. There are a lot of cheap GPS receivers out there though (<$50)
