Automatic Data Disconnect

On these new roms, is it possible to have cellular data calls (or broadband calls, or whatever they're called) disconnect automatically after a time of non-use? I'd like to have titanium weather automatically update on my today screen, but when it or any other program connects to the net, I have to manually disconnect, and if I forget or if I'm unaware of the connection, it drains my battery :)

Is there a registry hack or an cab to do this?

I'm sure this has been addressed, but I'm a single dad and don't have a lot of time for research, but I love my Omnia, and you guys make it easy for us noobers to have cool phones. Thanks for your work! :D
