Spotty GPS performance - some days yes, some days no!

I can't figure out what could be making it so unreliable.

I'm using an omnia i910 with Adrenelyne's most M2D CF03 ROM, and the times that the GPS locks it can always do it in less than a minute.

When it doesn't work, nothing happens. Google maps will say "seeking" until the "weak signal" warning pops up.

Obstruction probably isn't a factor - I live in a field. Anyway, location doesn't seem to make a difference.

What could be going wrong?

Also, I can't find out how you download GPS XTRA data. How do you do that?
