Guest philly-d Posted October 5, 2009 Report Posted October 5, 2009 The moment we've all been waiting for is near... According to Adobe, Flash 10.1 (not the Lite version that we have been stuck with for so long) should be available on most higher-end handsets by 2010! The new software is intended to work as well on a smartphone as a desktop PC. Ben Wood, director of mobile research at analyst firm CCS Insight, said...The sort of rich apps we now see being delivered on PCs will now be coming to the phone You'll be able to access a lot of the cool stuff that web designers are coming up with. Mobile-optimized Flash will also have the ability to make use of native input methods, whether touchscreen or physical keys, multi-touch, gestures, accelerometer and screen orientation. Betas should be available for Windows Mobile, Palm webOS and desktop operating systems including Windows, Macintosh and Linux later this year, with a full release by mid 2010. Oh yeah, and it's not available on the iPhone... :) [Via BBC News and Adobe]
