Guest cerberez Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 Hi, what I really want to do is compose a playlist on my computer (preferably in a cool program like mediamonkey, but windows media player would be fine) and transfer the mp3s (along with the playlist file, either .m3u or .wpl). I've tried this with both m3u and wpl, and no program I put on my omnia could open them. Windows media mobile doesn't even see m3u or even wpl (I click "open file" and go to my playlist folder, but nothing is visible there), Nitrogen can't read playlists, and TCPMP gets a file not found error when I try to load an m3u. I've read accounts of people syncing playlists from windows media player, but I've found no way of keeping the songs in the correct order after transfer. Is it possible? -Thanks!

Then just drag and drop your playlists into the sync q and it copies all the music as well as the playlists and u can run the playlists from yr device..

Wow, I'm glad to see someone else has the same issue. . . that's my last problem with my omnia. When I fix that, my phone will finally be *exactly* the way I want it!
Guest nixxss Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Huh, I just tried that this morning, and I can't see the playlist from within the player. What folder does it install to? Thanks! i just connected by active sync, opened windows media player, clicked on sync and chose the device as it came up with my storage and then just dragged the playlists there to the device. In windows media player they came up under playlists.. i remember having this problem a while ago but has been solved 4 a while now.. i've been using sectors and khunchais roms.. all work fine, now moved back to 6.1 and using Custom i900 ROM DXID1/Vie12. exROM update only (24-May-2009). It creates a playlist folder in the root of my storage.. i suppose u can make a folder called playlists and then when u open windows media player they should come up after looking for new media..

Windows Media Player on my laptop loads a playlist file but windows media mobile can't see it. I wonder if it could be an issue with my ROM. . . I've got Adrynalyne's latest 6.5. When you say the issue got fixed, did it get fixed when you flashed a newer ROM? thanks!
Guest nixxss Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 hmmm thanks, no luck yet. Windows Media Player on my laptop loads a playlist file but windows media mobile can't see it. I wonder if it could be an issue with my ROM. . . I've got Adrynalyne's latest 6.5. When you say the issue got fixed, did it get fixed when you flashed a newer ROM? thanks! i just remember trying it earlier on when first got omnia and it didn't work.. couldn't find playlists.. then flashed to a newer custom rom and didn't try it as i thought it wouldn't work, but i sync'ed later on and was playing with windows media player to find ways i could create a playlist.. found i could do this on the phone by going through music and choosing songs to put into a list but way too time consuming so i thought there must be a better way.. looked around and people seemed to be having no problems syncing with media player, so i tried it and viola it just worked.. i could go into media player on device and the playlists were there.. then i started flashing newer roms and noticed a playlist folder got created when i synced so i backed this up with every upgrade, but even when i removed i found this got recreated once i synced again.. and from then on it just worked on every rom i tried.. keep in mind i've been switching from khunchais and sectors roms only.. sectors i've found to be more eye candy, but khuanchais fast and useable.. so to answer yr question.. must have been fixed when i flashed to a newer rom.. u're using a 6.5 rom so i would assume it should work.. can't tell u if i did something special cos i didn't.. it just worked.. :)
Guest cerberez Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 Well, it's working for me now. I don't know exactly what I did, but I essentially just fooled around with settings on my laptop and on my phone, and playlists now show up.

Hmm, I don't have any screenshots, but I do like the ROM. You can find it on samsung-omnia.org: Here it is I'm using his 4.0 (CF03, wm 6.5), which some people say isn't quite as stable as 3.0, but I just love it. It comes with some bells and whistles, but it runs faster and smoother for me than any of the other ROMs I've tried. With no programs open it uses about 43% of the RAM. Also, the visual look is nice and cohesive, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't care about looks.

I'm now trying to get it working but get only files synced. Thanks, Igor

Guest isakhnov Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 Try it with windows media player open on both the computer and phone when syncing. That is what worked for me. Unfortunately no luck - I still do not have playlists synced to the device.
Guest isakhnov Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 Unfortunately no luck - I still do not have playlists synced to the device. I had figured out the problem - I was connecting as HDD. As soon as I switched to ActiveSync playlists were synced to the phone.
