Guest FutureDirt Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Definately getting this one next aswell. i was trying to decide between a Toshiba TG-01 and an Omnia 2. Then i saw the Touch HD 2.... gotta have it!
Guest zha50 Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 when is it released and how much? Looks like later / end of the month. Prices are currently listing for about 475GBP http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php/2463/htc-hd-2 http://www.clove.co.uk/viewProduct.aspx?Ma...9D-F9230F032E7E
Guest Fuzzman1 Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Looks like a fair machine but have you seen the size of it!! You might need a pack horse to carry it around for you :)
Guest ilovemyi900 Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Im getting this :) when i save some more money! Dito :D

It is virtually confirmed. When it does it is going to have to be subsidized. I love my Omnia, but I will now postpone getting the Omnia II. This phone is a beast. I don't care about the size - I need more room to type with my fat fingers anyway. Plus I am a video junky. The screen size is just right for me. I have a lot of time to save to either break my contract and switch networks or apply the funds to the new phone and carrier. YES!!! http://pocketnow.com/news-archive/htc-hd2-...s-in-q1-of-2010
Guest jonboyuk Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Looks like a fair machine but have you seen the size of it!! You might need a pack horse to carry it around for you :) Actually it's only a couple of mm bigger than the iPhone....and *SOOOOO* much better. I'm going to upgrade my Omnia to this as soon as o2 releases it.....come on o2....I'm getting impatient!
Guest tsukasa21 Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Im getting this :) when i save some more money! +1
Guest punkmonkey1984 Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 really hoping orange uk bring it out, but looks like there going with the iphone, which is a shame because, every other carrier is going with it o2, t-mobile, vodafone has rumours, Orange has no news :)
Guest nollie Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 By the time my contract ends in May I wouldn't be surprised if an HTC HD 3 had been launched.
Guest BlacKICcE Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 By the time my contract ends in May I wouldn't be surprised if an HTC HD 3 had been launched. lol same here .. i still have 2 years and a half till my contract ends .. hehe so HTC HD5 might be out :) this time .. without doubts... no more samsung .. only HTC
Guest u441105 Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Loving this phone too but sucks living in the US. By the time it gets here I'll have to wait for VZW to pick it up, but by then my contract should be up. I can renew Jan of 2011 so I got a ways to go. There will probably be something else I want to wait for by then.
Guest MAMBO04 Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Awesome phone. I am going to upgrade to it next June :) and yeah, hurry up O2 and snag this phone!
Guest naTpuoT87 Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 I'm Russian and we have ot got any contracts thats why i can upgrade when HD will be ready:-)
Guest Weesals Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Wow.. the screen covers almost the entire face :) I read that HTC have really bad D3D drivers though >.> I wonder if they will fix them up for the HD 2
Guest SStaged Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 Just something to think about for those coming to the end of contracts or wish to update there Omnia's. What do you think? HTC HD 2 right now, with what's out there, most definitely. i'd like to stay with verizon as i've been completely happy with the service. it seems lately, that verizon is starting to improve their smartphone line up, with the hero and scholes being added soon. hd2 has an extremely fast and slick interface....here's an interesting thing i noticed from the second video in this link: http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/06/htc-hd2...sions-on-video/ For current i910 folks, at 37 secs, while the rep is in the contacts screen, look at the entries for bill pay, minutes etc...then at 57 secs you'll see a contact entry for Verizon Wireless Accessories....neat find, may not say much, but interesting....I do hope it comes to VZW
Guest plguzman Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 I will be thinking of getting one as soon as supports 3G 850/1900. Until then, NO DEAL.
Guest naturalpanic Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 (edited) no VIDEO call... no TV-OUT... poor BATTERY 1230mAh.... 65k colors...(acceptable) but not good... come on HTC....what r u doing... omnia is the best! Edited October 8, 2009 by naturalpanic
Guest Th3rmal Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 The only thing holding me back from getting another winmo phone is the gay 65K screen. If there was a 16M colour winmo phone, I would get it straight away.
Guest zha50 Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 no VIDEO call... no TV-OUT... poor BATTERY 1230mAh.... 65k colors...(acceptable) but not good... come on HTC....what r u doing... omnia is the best! You do realize that the Omnia's screen is still effectively 65K. The 65K limitation is imposed by WinMo and all WinMo devices are effetivly 65K colour, regardless of the actual screens support.
Guest Koofteh Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 It's definitely tempting, but I'm not totally sold. The screen is awesome, but Windows Mobile is still limited to 65,000 colours... that hardware could look so much better. Also you have to wonder about battery life in a device so slim with such a big screen and fast processor. Oh, and what about compatbility with WM7? It might be or it might not be, I'd personally hate to spend so much cash for such nice hardware that will be stuck with 6.5 or some hacked version of 7 from XDA.
Guest La Traviata Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 Also you have to wonder about battery life in a device so slim with such a big screen and fast processor. +1 I'll wait for user feedback before I rush into anything. I'm also curious about the camera performance, this has been pretty patchy on HTC in the past.
