Guest Firaas Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 http://www.orange.co.uk/business/internati...gprs_table.html is Orange's stuff...
Guest pete1312 Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 Hi Firaas Does your post (Orange GPRS) mean that I can't roam elsewhere that GPRS is available? I'm off to Bulgaria skiing next week, and could do with e-mail access for business (without my laptop, cos I can't get SPV as Modem to work at all). Bulgaria apparently offer GRPS, but does your post mean that Orange have no GPRS roaming agreement over there?
Guest able Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 I was in switzerland last week and using Orange CH as my provider and GPRS was to say the least very flaky...
Guest idoru Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 Hi Firaas Bulgaria apparently offer GRPS, but does your post mean that Orange have no GPRS roaming agreement over there? I am wondering the same thing also? I am off to Ireland next week and there is no GPRS agreement over there.
Guest pupton Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 Dont forget about the £8.50 charge per mb....
Guest Firaas Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 That's right. GPRS roaming is very limited at the moment, and isn't available in Ireland or Bulgaria.
Guest idoru Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 So much for the Celtic Tiger. I knew there was a reason I left Ireland. The telephone/ mobile sytem is just as bad as the Irish roads. Do you know that there is hardly any broadband roll out in Ireland. They don't even call it DSL - its called i-stream because it comes from another planet (past your-anus I think!). Connecting to eircom i-stream solo will cost you 199.65 Euro to setup. A monthly fee of 107.69 Euro applies thereafter. To use eircom i-stream solo, you'll also need an ADSL USB modem, which costs 175.45 Euro , or an ADSL Ethernet modem, which costs 242 Euro. I mean seriously why did I even ask about GPRS :?:
