Guest necosino Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 (edited) Thought I'd share why I'm sticking with MS3.0 I have combined WMSeven's theme with MSKip's widget pack. Until I can either get WMSeven working on MS3.5 or the creator ports it first, I'll be sticking with 3.0 My "Main" screen Windows-like Start Menu Transparent Bottom Bar Combine WMSeven with MSKips Widgets! Let me know if you're interested and I'll get everything together for you :) Install WMSeven, overwrite black theme files if you want. Unzip my zip file into /Program Files/SPB Mobile Shell/ Import the .reg file either with a Reg editor on your phone, or with CeRegEditor on your PC. This first file doesn't have the sidebar. If there's a request, I'll put a new one together with the sidebar, too. :DWidgets_Combined.rar Edited October 8, 2009 by necosino
Guest semmtexx Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 Pshh...sorry dude but 3.5 is way better. you aint got no TWITTER boyyyy!!!!!
Guest necosino Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 I wasn't all that impressed with the facebook/twitter widgets in 3.5. So you can update your status that quickly.. Okay, it takes 5 seconds to open Twinkini if you really want to tell the world that you've been doing silly pointless stuff (like 95% of tweets are completely pointless). To me, having that start menu is really how "Windows Mobile" should be, and being able to even customize which programs are there.. I, personally, can't live without it :) I tried 3.5, and just missed it too much to let go. Plus having all of MSKip's ProPlus widgets is nice :D
Guest plguzman Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 I'm a MS3 lover, and I have to say that 3.5 is much better.
Guest clemmyb Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 Let me know if you're interested and I'll get everything together for you :) Yeah, go on, I'm keen to check out the WMSeven skin and the extra cabs for MS3.1 - so if you can post all the cabs here that'd be appreciated...
Guest meabigbaldguy Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 (like 95% of tweets are completely pointless). I'll drink to that!!!!
Guest Charllie Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 (edited) Yeah, go on, I'm keen to check out the WMSeven skin and the extra cabs for MS3.1 - so if you can post all the cabs here that'd be appreciated... I will second that, and much appreciate it. Mike Edited October 8, 2009 by Charllie
Guest necosino Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 First, go here and register (it's in french, but click the UK flag in the top-right to change to english) Then download the .cab for your device. This is the blue theme. For the black theme, go here and download the zip file, replacing the files in /Program Files/Mobile Shell I used the No-sidebar qa_layouts as well, but it's optional. I'll post both versions tonight. That will get you started, once I get home tonight I'll post the widgets and updated qa_layouts.dat file to replace in /Program Files/Mobile Shell.
Guest joweedeame Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 nah Windows Mobile 3.5 way better.... reasons: 1.facebook/twitter 2.skins for all widgets like the new skin for weather aweversome 3. 3d message viewer great for emails (not for sms though still goes to vito) 4.you can now box shortcut to application widget (cool very neat) 5. you have the option to have both lifestyle and pro layout (turn it on or if you dont like either) 6. task widget... 7. plus the ultimate fact... you can use all those skin that you mentioned on 3.5 lols
Guest necosino Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 1: As stated, use the facebook app and twitter is junk IMO :) 2: Yes, I did like the new weather look, but it wasn't critical to me 3. Wasn't in love with the 3d message viewer either 4. You can use boxes, colored boxes, and colored rows with MSKip's button backgrounds 5. You can turn Pro/Lifestyle off in MS3.0 via reg edits 6. Yeah, the task widget was nice, but to me, Start menu + widgets > task widget 7. No actually, you can't. 3.5 is completely rewritten as far as widgets go, and the Start Menu will take quite a while to port over.
