Guest MrCapcom Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 Ok so I asked this on the i900 side and I forgot that they have more /device space I believe and probally don't care lol. But anywho how do you setup your XDA_UC to install to storage silently. I know if you put in SD folder you will actually have a chance to define where everything goes but IMO that defeats the purpose of having a auto installer. By default XDA_UC will install to your /device I thought we could change this using SDConfig.txt but I don't know what I need to do from there to make it install to storage. So any help would be welcomed. I rather install to My Storage not the SD card but if thats all I can do then ill accept that but for now I would like to know how to install to my My Storage section. I don't think its feasable to edit cab by cab to install to storage either would be the same as just manually choosing where to put everything. Thanks for the info in advance im sure other people want to know lol
Guest necosino Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 I'm pretty sure shashimi is able to do that, if that's an option.
Guest lioryte Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 Sashimi can install to SC (My Storage) or to device Memory. I don't have an extra storage card so IDK about that, that's why I don't use XDA_UC I understand that you need an external card to do use it... Try asking noonsky, he's the one that build it... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=562568
Guest WoZZeR999 Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 (edited) Make a folder in your SD card called XDA_UC. If you look at my thread, it links to the original XDA thread explaining how to use it. Edited October 8, 2009 by WoZZeR999
Guest MrCapcom Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 ill ask the maker of XDA_UC I already asked you wozzer stop tryin to make me look bad :)
Guest mcperson Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 my advice would be to study Sashimi and Makisu and learn everything you can about it. http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-general...or-the-dummies/ ITS DEFINITELY WORTH IT. You can back up all your email and wireless setting and everything else(everything else can be a little tricky wifi and email is easy). Everything is automatic and very fast. I don't like XDA_UC too much, it works but takes forever. All you have to do is install sashimi to storage card or my storage and put all your cabs for device in sashimi\auto\cab and for storage sashimi\auto\cab\sc. Very easy. on hard reset or fresh flash just install the sashimi cab and run auto

But if I can't get this answered I suppose I would go back to shashimi for the fact that it just installs to storage.
Guest Bomama94 Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 I would like to say that I've used both and Sashimi has performed miles better for me. It installs everything I need where I want it automatically and also goes much faster than XDA_UC, especially if you have a lot of .cabs, reg files, etc. I use Waremikes cabs from his XDA_UC folder along with my own stuff which is like 16 apps and Sashimi did everything automatically and it was easy and XDA_UC made me manually select where I wanted each of the cabs to install. It sucked. But anyways thats just my personal opinion.

Guest Bomama94 Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 XDA_UC is a lot easier to use. Thats true but once you get past the initial setup of getting all your reg and cab files in the appropriate folder which isn't too complex its basically the same.
