Finally took the jump,, tried a few custom roms within a few hours

I finally got bored of the official stuffs and wanted to jump to custom win mo 6.5 for a long time now, but didnt have the courage to do it, since i have vista and loads of crap running on my pc,,was worried i brick my only "working" fone at the moment..

anyways, took the jump and tried quite a lot of custom roms within a few hours successfully!!!

i used vmware and followed the instructions by sector (thanks bro for the help there).

so... i am currently using HIDE7 (thanks Nicklashidegard for ur roms, they are worth a try)... tried neotitatium rom,flotanium, m2d.... personally i figured out i dont really need 2 home screens, so i chaned to neotitaium alone.. works good for me.

the reason i am opening this thread is for 2 purposes:

1. to advise people looking to jump to customs roms, to try these roms and follow the instructions to the letter given by sector, it will work out perfectly!

2. i am all abt speed and eye candy in the roms i look for, i have installed some apps to allow modding the appearance.

i currently have an app called iconchanger and i find it really useful and makes life easier to change icons.

i also have an issue with the lock screen, when i press the end key for long,, it takes a while to lock it and show the lock screen..

anyone have a solution to this, to make it almost instant to lock?

last but not least,i am back to square 2 or maybe 5 :) since i am "new" to win mo 6.5 so i would like to ask people here to suggest apps or tweaks to make the rom more eyecandy.

currently i am looking to make a taskbar for my omnia, since all the taskbars i modified were for win 6.1, anyone can suggest a nice taskbar and some icon packs for win mo6.5? or anyone knows a thread explaining how to change the icons on the taskbar just like there was one at xda for win mo 6.1 taskbars?

There's quite a few sets of icons running around this forum though. Also, I'm an avid fan of PointUI's Home2. Try it out, it's very customizable if you're interested. But Titanium gets the job done rather easily without need for much customization.
