unlocked touch diamond but no internet on virgin mobile

Hi all, nice site first off.

sorry if my first post is a call for help but im stuck!

im in uk on virgin mobile network. just got myself a htc touch thats supposed to have been locked to vodafone but seems to work with my virgin pay monthly sim fine.

i can access and use msn, and can get on face book if i go through internet explorer. however if i try to use opera or the web browser tab i get connection error.

i have set up the phone according to virgins website with the right proxy, ip addy and all that, restarted phone as instructed but still cant access and web through opera, i cant get on youtube, facebook, or any other sites yet can it seems get on google homepage, its all a little strange.

ive hunted around and seen a post from someone else with identcial issue but no reply so im hoping i get a response here that helps

It seems that your phone's internet function is bricked by vodafone. So when you tried to connect internet you got error. Maybe you can find on the net some ways to unlock it. More help is still needed. :)

problem solved. it wasnt totally locked just opera and a few other apps that were tied into vodafone, simple solution update bootloader, flash radio then flash rom .

now proud owner of touch diamond running win mobile 6.5 with SPB over the top and everything working.. just gotta try figure out how to change themes now. what was nice was 6.5 auto detected my virgin mobile gprs settings too so everything cool.
