Guest megaoptimus Posted October 15, 2009 Report Posted October 15, 2009 Is anyone having issues with decreased GPS reception on ANY of the radios? In particular, the 6.35.07.08 and previous. I recently updated to 6.35.07.08 then noticed that GPS reception was terrible if existent at all. Even if I leave it sit for a while after the flash. So I went back to using 6.35.06.18 which seems just only a little bit better but worse than before I flashed at all. My question is this: Could I have done something wrong? I'm using the HTC Generic 2.73.405.5 generic (tried going to .38, didn't help) with the custom boot image for easy nandroid back ups. No errors or anything during the process, just crappy GPS. Only thing is that I didn't rename it to update.zip but used the "apply any zip" function in the boot image, which shouldn't make a difference. At this point, I re-applied the .07.08 flash as update.zip and I'm still waiting for the GPS to get a signal. Something is certainly wrong and I don't know if it is the GPS software in the phone at this point or something else. Only thing I haven't tried was a previous radio image, say 63.18.55.06_6.35.05.31. I'm out of options at this point, any thoughts?
Guest ash08 Posted October 15, 2009 Report Posted October 15, 2009 Hi guyz, I'm also having trouble with the GPS since I updated with the new Rom and the radio update. I'm somewhere between Nick Qi and your problem described here. When I try to use CoPilot Live, as I set a destination, it look for my current position -I see the little sign that is searching- and won't go any further... If I select the GPS state it say latitude 0,000000 and longitude 0,000000 (check the attached images). When I try to use gmap, it takes more time than usual to calculate my position but it get something. The problem is that it like 500 meters away from where I am... Does anyone have a clue to help us? Does anyone knows what the radio update change exactly? thanks a lot in advance ! :)
Guest megaoptimus Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 As an update, I'm using the FU baseband (newest one) and next to latest generic ROM (not rooted). This time I left it sit at my house (which I've done before) and it finally got a lock and kept it the entire time to work. I'll test it again on the way home. Maybe it'll be better now that I've given it a chance to lock and track. But still, something still seems not quite right with the FU baseband. Maybe it is just me and my area or something and it's all a mis-perception on my part, I'm not sure now. But I don't think I can blame it on the phones hardware at this point. Sigh...if it isn't broke, etc....
