Guest zymmer Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 (edited) Hi, Today, playing "Archibald's Adventure" game on Omnia i was able to press screen twice at the same time (that is, using both fingers at the same time) and the game was responsive to that!!!! My test: 1) There is a bubble taht you can move up/down/left/right by pressing screen 2) Touch Up side of screen, bubble goes up, release screen, bubble begin to slowly go down (gravity effect) 3) Touch UP side, bubble goes up, AND WITHOUT RELEASING SCREEN, i use my other finger to touch right side of screen, bubble continues going UP AND begin to move also RIGHT!!! 4) I can move finger from right to left and bubble follows that movement and keep always going UP 5) If i keep right side press and release the other finger (that in the upper side of screen) bubble continues to go RIGHT and begin to suffer gravity effect (going slowly down). That means that i can press screen simultaneously in two points and both are sent to the game....That means hardwre MUST be multi-touch in nature? Am i missing something?? Guest pillagingjack Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 My understanding is that with the omnia, you are dealing with resistive technology so multi-touch is not an option per se. In this case, it is not REALLY multi-touch, but what is happening is that the pressure in the two points of the screen are creating a line of contact. it is the center of this line that the game is reading. This would then show not directly upward motion, but motion with a right/left movement as you experienced. Hope that clears it up a bit.... Nate
Guest zymmer Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 Good explanation, that can make the trick :) i was so impressed that lost my mind ;) Thanks! :(
Guest Billus Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 Ummm, that happens in Assasins Creed as well. When you want to run and jump at the same time, you press the two on-screen buttons simultaneously. This only happens because there is a non-visible button in the middle that is triggered to how pillagingjack explained. Try pressing in between the two points (between your fingers) next time you play, I'm almost certain the same thing will happen :)
Guest GunGirlYuna Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 This may be irrelevant... but in Assassins Creed use the Omnia's middle button... u know the one that you can set as a mouse in 6.1? Press it and he jumps =]
