Flash under Mac with VMWare Fusion?

Has anyone ran the Omnia UMDL under Fusion for Mac? Rather than using my XP Netbook to do all my flashing, I would rather do it directly under my Mac desktop with VMWare Fusion. I have USB 2.0 turned on, and ActiveSync 'sees' my Omnia fine, and UMDL will run; however, when I start the flash it sees the Omnia, flashes the first part (clear mem and whatever gets flashed with the first set of green bars shown on the Omnia itself) but it then never gets any further - just hangs and the UMDL percent never goes past 0%. When I say hang it doesn't hang the machine but rather just stops and will never advance any further.

I also tried it in a Fusion VM using Windows 7, but then it (Win 7) never even sees the Omnia after I turn USB connections off in the Mobile Device Center. (Although with that turned on Mobile Device Center will see the Omnia fine).

Any one else successful in running UMDL under a Fusion VM with Mac OS X? I've Googled and read some threads here and there, but nothing seems to work.

Thanks.

Same here i couldn't get it to work with parallels so I use bootcamp with windows 7 but still have to run it in compatibility mode and as an administrator.

How far did you guys get when you tried flashing with UMDL under Fusion/XP? Did it get as far as I did? (i.e. it sees the Omnia, starts flashing, gets through the first part, but then hangs and never gets to 0%)

Mine didn't work at all so I'm thinking you might be able to get it. Try opening up the UMDL properties and running it in compatibility mode for vista and make it run as an administrator. If not I highly recommend bootcamp. Its a lot more stable in my opinion and the new boot camp drivers apple has make it run perfectly.

Any luck?

I'm running under XP (under Fusion) so I can't run it as compatibility mode, since it is already in XP mode. Gotta be something to do with drivers or such.

Anyone else got any ideas?
