Guest silfer Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 Hi! I just rooted my asian hero with a goldcard and installed modaco's custom rom. Everything is fine but i realised that pinyin input is gone. Is there a way to add it back? Can we have pinyin input in the next modaco rom update?
Guest Paul Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 Did you install the Chinese version? P

Guest silfer Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 (edited) mmm i installed it but i dont know how to use it for my keyboard, i tried restarting but it still doesnt show on the "select chinese input" option EDIT: ok i got it to work, you had to tap and hold the text box to change the IME. There are actually a lot of hidden options and stuff in the android that isnt properly documented. discovering smth new everyday! Edited October 20, 2009 by silfer

I had a stock Hero purchased in Hong Kong that had HTC IME with Pinyin and it is a lot better than the Google Pinyin IME. Any chance you can get that .so? I had to use the goldcard method of rooting and do not have a copy of the original ROM, so I can't help.
Guest maddiez Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 search for HTC CIME, you'll get the stock PinYin package. you may need to use ADB to push the files to your phone.
