How to remove the hexagons for the Start Menu?

Start Menu with hexagons is very slowly...

What do you mean? Customize its skin or remove the entire honeycomb and get the old start menu? I don't think it is possible to get the old start menu in 6.5. My start menu is not slow at all though.

Sure it is possible! Just go to Start/Settings/System/Large Display and tick the box. Then you're back to retro!

If you don't like the honeycomb, then try either of these CABs to change the menu layout. Credit for these goes to both Sector and Smilegod! If you don't like either of them then you can uninstall in Settings/System/Remove Programs. One CAB is for a two column start menu grid format without the honeycomb. The Smilegod CAB, is for a three column grid format. I use the two column one because I think it looks cleaner and doesn't look as busy on the small screen.

Smilegod_StartMenu is beatufull, but I prefer the start menu like the khunchai roms , for example.

Just copy these to files from your windows directory to your PC

StartMenu_GridScene_400x240.cpr

StartMenu_GridScene_240x400.cpr

MAKE A BACK-UP OF THESE FILES BEFORE EDITING THEM.

Right click on them and check Properties. Remove the read only tick.

Open each file with Notepad and delete the following line

<Image ID="Hexagon Overlay Image" Left="0" Top="0" Width="96" Height="83" Source=".\StartMenu_Hexagon_Inactive.png" ScaleStyle="Fit" />

Close and save.

Copy files back to Windows folder on phone.

Restart phone.
