Guest fclifton Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 I am looking for a replacement i910 Multifunction Jack Door. I know some folks have removed theirs, and I would be happy to pay shipping for it. Or, does anyone know how to get one from Samsung?

Guest fclifton Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 Just go to the store and they will probably get you one. Tried, no luck. At least at the one store I tried. I think if I find the "right" saleperson, it might work.
Guest Zealster Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 You should walk in and take it off their display model. It will never be missed. Plus they always have them charging anyways so it's always unused.

Guest pfonck Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 (edited) Before anyone starts vandalising harmless display models... It is impossible to remove the jack door without destroying it. There's a large knob inside the casing that can't be pulled out trough the case without breaking either the case or the door (I'm fairly certain the door will give first). And even if you'd manag to pull it trough somehow there's no way to get it back into the case, trust me. I know because I recently replaced the complete casing of my omnia. My omnia had a scratched touch panel and a black case, now a new panel inside a white case. Forget about it. I would buy a replacement casing from a Hong Kong seller on eBay as it comes with most of the small parts including the jack door. But as I said before you *have* to split the casing to replace it. Not for the faint hearted, but if you're brutal enough to destroy display models in a shop it should be no problem ;-) Edited October 24, 2009 by pfonck

I've taken mine out and put it back in several times (when i use a hard case I take it off, when I have no case on, I put the door on). Mine is just a plastic ball that is softer than the case's plastic, so that it squeezes into the slot fairly easily. Edited October 24, 2009 by necosino

Did the new case use the existing chrome top, or did it have a new top? (and I didn't really consider ravishing the display model, not for more than a few msec...)

Did the new case use the existing chrome top, or did it have a new top? After removing four screws you have to pry the case open. The case I bough came with an opening tool. btw. there's enough topics on this, search for touch panel replacement threads. Ayway, if you just want to replace the jack door it's pretty easy and you don't have to release any connectors. The case I bought had a new crome top. (and I didn't really consider ravishing the display model, not for more than a few msec...) I am happy to hear that. As a reward I'll send you my spare "Multifunction Jack Door" if you PM me your address. Edited October 24, 2009 by pfonck
