Guest knowseeker Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Hi all, I had done the cc20 rom earlier this year and have used a variety of customs from BlazingWolf and BillG, Wozzer, etc. I'd like to try a new one, and if I understand correctly, I need to get a new "base rom" that is the official verizon CF03? Please advise if this would be a good idea and point me to any discussions if they are already out there. Currently using a late model BillG but having some trouble with the numbers not responding well particularly when trying to access voicemail. (no it makes no sense to me either...) Seperate question: Would like a dialer with BIG BUTTONS for the numbers.... Thanks, Dave
Guest necosino Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 No, you don't need to reflash CF03 or CC20. On all the modern ROMs, you need to be on CF03.. CF03/CC20 is like the Bios in your computer. The ROM PDA .bin is like Windows. You can reinstall windows all you want, but only need to update your bios 0-5 times over the life of your computer. The same is true with your phone :)
Guest knowseeker Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 I guess what I am trying to say is I never put in CF03, just kept up with the latest roms I was interested in. Is it neccessary to put in CF03? Or is that functionality included in the cooked roms? Looks like from you analogy that I do need to put in CF03, for the cooked to run on top of... Y?
