Guest Eric Hu Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 Hi all, Its my first post here. Thank Paul for releasing great ROMS. I updated my hero last night. (from 2.6.1 to 2.7) I noticed some issues: 1. a windows pops up at startup. it says "su request", I dunno what that is, I pressed "allow". Is that the right option?? 2. SMS issue. -- sms sending failure: must press "retry" (its vry annoying as i send lots of txt, if that continue to happen, that means i have to "retry" a lot of times/ day =( -- delay receiving sms: my mate sent the txt at 0:18, I received at 1:15. another txt was sent at 16:51, i received at 17:54. Does these problems happen to anyone here? and how can they be fixed? Your replies are much appreciated. Thank in advance Eric
Guest Marcony0 Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 I'm getting same problem, and i don't know how to solve it. I tried Hot reset / factory reset and i'm goning to wait for the results. I read somewhere it might be fault of some application the SMS delay, i got one 4 days later ! and some of them never reached me, i know it's my phones faul because i switched with other handset and everything works fine. anyway, this is the list of applications i isntalled after factory reset using 2.6 MoDaCo ROM . ChompSMS Advanced Taskiller Wavesecure SilentTime TuneWiki Call Log Live Folder Facebook For Android i'm not going to install anything else and see if i'm gonna get same problem . What i noticed, that it happens to specific contacts, if i removed that contact and save it again and that persons smses me i get it, but late on it goes back to that ugly delay. any suggestions ?
Guest ThomasJ Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I was having odd SMS issues as well, however i moved over to using Handcent SMS (New) instead of ChompSMS and have not had any issues since. Handcent seems to handle Hero's contact photos and message database better, but it could all be in my head :D

Thanks for showing me Handcent , i really like it way more than ChompSMS .. I don't know if its going to help with the sms delay and not recieving some sms but this app seems much cooler, maybe bit heavier but still cooler with the pop ups ! thanks mate... i will update this thread if i notice any changes in sms reciving.
Guest Eric Hu Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Sounds like the problem was caused by the sms program we are using. :D I am using Handcent SMS right now, I will try ChompSMS tomorrow. (Errrr, many of you experience problem when using ChompSMS, does it mean i should move back to use the default sms program)

(Errrr, many of you experience problem when using ChompSMS, does it mean i should move back to use the default sms program) Oh gosh, Chompsms handle the problem even worse, it won't notify me when a sms was sent failed with any notification or vibrate. :D I am using default sms program now.

Guest scar4ace Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 Hi guys anyone solved the SMS delay problem? I started getting delayed SMS when moving from official 2.73.405.5 to MCR2.8. As per Pauls advice I will now get the latest mcr AND the latest radio and see how things fare. rgds
