Guest kalairn Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 I mean that the hero isn't being picked up as a device, i do have the drivers installed on my xp pc but when I plug the hero in all that happen is that it just charges and nothing else, no pop up saying 'would you like to mount'
Guest shokka9 Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 When it is connected to the PC via USB lead, you should have a notification on the HTC Hero saying that it is connected....if you tap on the notification, it will ask you to Mount it... Mount it.... I don't get any pop up on my PC (Windows 7), i have to open My Computer and there it is. Sometime i have to wait a minute before the PC actually displays drive info and also to be accessible. You will also get a HTC Sync notification also....if you have it installed ;) Also....i wanted so hard to make a funny post....Your thread subject title was funny to me.... 'CANNOT MOUNT THE HERO'.....lol It is good, but NOT that good!! :) :(
Guest kalairn Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 When it is connected to the PC via USB lead, you should have a notification on the HTC Hero saying that it is connected I know I should but that is what i'm not getting, all that happens is that the phone charges up I think it could be the RA-hero-v1.2.3 messing it all up, since I put that onto the phone that when this has become a problem

It won't affect your ability to mount. Are you absolutely certain you are getting no notifications on your Hero to mount the SD card when you've plugged it in via USB? If you are, have you tried another SD card? Regards, Dave
Guest kalairn Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 yep I am totally sure, when I plug my phone if it be into my mac or my pc, all that happen is that it just starts to charge the phone and nothing more happens :) , no pop in the notifcations, and yes tried the original card that came with the phone and also my own 4gb and nothing :(
Guest pocasolta Posted November 1, 2009 Report Posted November 1, 2009 hi all, I'm having the same problem here. if anyone had it and fixed it, please explain what they did. I've tried all the ROMS, wipes, cables, ... and always the same: I can only get to charge through USB or connect to the device via fastboot. thanks.
Guest markspark100 Posted November 1, 2009 Report Posted November 1, 2009 I had this problem once, I had force stopped the PC Syncronisation application through Settings -> Manage Applications. Check this is a running application, if not check it is installed on your phone if it isn't that could be the problem. I've attached the apk file incase you need to install it, although not sure if that's all you'd need as there is also an odex file so I've attached that too. Like I said don't know if that is the problem but I was having the same problem and it was because I'd stopped the app from running so it didn't pop up on the phone when I plugged into the comp. Guest pocasolta Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 (edited) hello markspark100, I tried installing the apk you posted but nothing has improved... The thing is that when I normally boot the phone, and right on the first second, the PC detects something but it always tells: "USB Device not recognized"... that should mean the problem source is much before the full phone software is loaded. [uPDATE] I finally gave up and sent the phone back to manufacturer. cheers Edited November 3, 2009 by pocasolta

That's work for me ! Since to me the upgrade by HTC for Taboo mess up the driver for Hero....
