Guest lilfields Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 So I just upgraded my ROM from a pretty old Wowzer ROM, and it had internet sharing...now that I have this new ROM installed I have found and installed "internet sharing" but it's not in the start menu anymore, making it highly inconvenient to use. Is there any way I can pin it to the start menu, or is there a .cab that can help me out? Or am I missing out on something people have replaced it with? I searched around and none of the .cabs I could find would make it appear in the start menu. While I'm at it, where is the .cab that makes the start menu hexagons instead of the gradient light behind the icons?
Guest amb123 Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 You need to download and install "total commander" (TC) for ppc. Google it. Open TC click on "show"/"single window mode" select "two window mode". Now in one window open next directory - "windows"/"start menu"/"programs". Keep it open. In your second TC window you need to find the folder that contains exe. file for internet sharing. It can be anywhere you installed it to. If your choice of installation was Device memory then most likely you will find it in the Device/programs/the (your) folder or under somewhere under "setting". If you can't find it anywhere, look into Device/windows. Scroll through the windows folder; it should be there. When you found it do next: 1. select the exe file. 2. In TC go to "file" click on ">>>>>" command and select "create shortcut". It will create shortcut in the "windows"/"start menu"/"programs" directory that you have open in the first window of TC. Close TC. You are done. Now you are going to have the shortcut in the start menu/programs.
Guest dwallersv Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 You don't need to do all that. There is a registry entry that shows/hides the internet sharing cpl in the settings list. That's your problem. I don't remember the reg key, but it's been discussed here many times, so it should be easy to find it with a search.
