Cemail restore?

OKay.. i've been doing a little reading, and found a couple apps that allow you to backup your cemail, and restore it from others.. but my question is.. does anyone have a "blank" cemail file, meaning the one that's created on device startup.. or would just creating a new 0kb file and then replacing it work? (as mine is 30MB, it's quite a memory hog atm and after sitting around for nearly 4hrs has only deleted 3/15k SMS)
