Guest jayw08 Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 I personally miss the clock flipping, as small as it may be it added a lot of personality to the phones UI
Guest rico2k_uk Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 nope.. it slowed things down way too much. Thats why HTC removed it.
Guest jayw08 Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 How do you know it was solely down to that flip of the clock, they stopped the weather widget animating when you scroll over to it. I wouldnt put it all down to that clock
Guest Higgsy Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 Doesn't bother me - I don't sit watching the screen on the phone, would probably just be something else to cane my battery
Guest dwattsy21 Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 I hadn't noticed... so I guess I don't mind!
Guest Rich Cranney Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 Didn't like it, found it pointless and time consuming when you wanted to know the time, you had to wait for it to update. Yes it was only a second or so, but what was the point? Same goes to the analogue clock, whats the point? Its a clock not a spinning wheel
Guest trstn Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 Looked far better than the new way, wrong time and 1second wait for it to update. What's the point of that clock style without the flip? I miss it.

Guest kkempe Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 (edited) Like it too. Reminds me to where I came from the last 6 years, was always HTC... :-) Edited October 25, 2009 by kkempe
Guest SUPADUPA111 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I liked the flip too. Without the animation, the design didn't make much sense anymore (large clock... on pages paper that doesn't move). I also agreed to make the animation as an add-on so half of us do start kicking and screaming like what happened with wavesecure...

Guest squirreleater Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 No. Hated it on my Touch HD, bloody annoying constanty flipping when the screen was activated.
Guest clarkEEE1 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 Totally pointless having something using memory and battery like the flip clock just slows things down modaco roms are all about speed and getting rid of things we don't need. My girlfriend would prob whinge about something like the clock.

Fair enough it may use some memory, but its part of what people liked about the sense UI, if you look at the poll questions it clearly states, "yes, include as an optional addon" or yes - just stick it in the rom, so if it was optional dont you think people would then have the choice?
Guest azzeg Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 I miss it too, was gutted when they took in the update, it should be as an option in the settings "enable/disable" then everyone can be happy! :D
Guest jayw08 Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 I miss it too, was gutted when they took in the update, it should be as an option in the settings "enable/disable" then everyone can be happy! :D Yeah, that would've been better, i emailed HTC support and all they said was they have taken it into consideration and please watch htc.com, which was pathetic tbh It would be good if a dev could include it in MoDaCo's Rom
Guest azzeg Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 i sent HTC customer service an email, and they got back to me a week later. I asked them if they were going to bring the clock animation back in the new rom, and they said that it would be an optional download in the widgets... so there is some good news, hope that this helps!!

In the widgets? on the widgets section of the phone? or an option when u select the clock you can choose to animate it or not? Which new rom do you mean? But yes this is great news! more helpful than the guy that contacted me Edited November 5, 2009 by jayw08
Guest azzeg Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 it was a very short email reply, so I can imagine there will just be 2 seperate widgets, or downloading the old one. It would be nice to see HTC add some new widgets and download more. I think that they must of been talking about the new 2.0 rom, im sure it will be out soon?
