Guest at227 Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 I have a samsung omnia (i910) from verizon wireless. had it for about a year and love the phone. I follow modaco quite a bit and want to thank everyone on here for the great community, especially all the hard work when gps was only fro VZ navigator. I have done my research and found a few JAVA mobile platforms for the omnia including JBlend make for the omnia. I have tried different cabs, versions, etc and whenever I go to install the cab I get the error Installation of XXX was unsuccessful." (where XXX is the filename of the cab). I have placed the cab in different locations on the phone, in main memory and storage card, and havent had any luck. I assume it has to do with the cab not being signed properly, but it the past I have just gotten a dialogue box saying do you trust this author when installing programs. If anyone can help I would appreciate it greatly. I would just like a program on my omnia to run java files (jar/jad). Specifically I am looking at some java games and the blizzard mobile authenticator (found a great site that has steps to use it on the omnia, will link if anyone is interested). Thanks in advance Andrew [email protected]
Guest at227 Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Well I solved my own problem. I found a working java emulator (attached is the .cab) Also got the blizzard mobile authenticator working with these directions Here is how I did it (in case anyone else plays wow) you need these 2 addons for firefox On PC: Firefox (http://getfirefox.com) -User Agent Switcher addon for Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/59) -Wireless Markup Language addon for Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/62) first we'll setup a profile from the first firefox plugin (Eser agent switcher). This will disguise our PC as a mobile phone supported by the authenticator. go to tools --> default user agent (will have an arrow on it opening another options pane) --> edit profiles create a new profile and put "MOT-V3i/08.B4.34R MIB/2.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0" in the user agent box (second one down, remove the quotes). The description can be anything, I used blizz authenticator. next go to http://mobile.blizzard.com/ and choose the authenticator application. choose motorola as the phone brand and V3i as the model (note the "i"). select a carrier. I chose sprint (couldn't get it working with at&t as a choice). please note I have verizon wireless. accept the terms and send the text message. PROCEEDING ANY FURTHER WILL CHARGE YOUR CELL PHONE BILL $0.99 be patient and only send one link/text to your phone. you will get a text message from blizz with a link after you enter the 4 digit pin. mine was http://wap.bizmobil.com/content/games/ws_u...15x15_1_0_0.jad (in place for the eight X's will be a unique key). enable the profile we created earlier in firefox and go to this link save the file go to the link again except this time change it to .jar at the end (from .jad) Load the .jad and .jar files onto your omnia (I put them in mystorage) Install the attached cab soft reset the omnia use a file explorer to open the .jar file from above. it should be associated with JBlend JBlend will load the file into its data base from now on when you run JBlend just select the application BMA (blizzard mobile authenticator) On the first load the authenticator app will tell you how to link it to your BNET account A few notes: When running the BMA inside JBlend I cannot use touch screen. I must use the middle mousepad/key to scroll and select. This is not a huge issue as the authentication code updates automatically You CAN minimize the program and run it in the background. When you maximize it the program will unpause and resync a new authentication code Exit from the battlenet authenticator program; if you use task manager or something similar you can crash JBlend and will need to soft reset. I take no credit for discovering this, the original site is below. I just rewrote the instructions as they were a bit confusing and I could not get their java emulator to install. I assume other java files can be run the same way, but will run into similar problems (lack of touch screen, crashes if closed externally, etc) http://deathcoil.net/authguide.html Cheers, AndrewJblend.cab
Guest Jokes On You Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 Does this JBlend .cab work for installation to a Storage Card? I have tried a couple before and some worked for a while but then quit opening.
Guest at227 Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Does this JBlend .cab work for installation to a Storage Card? I have tried a couple before and some worked for a while but then quit opening. When asked during install between main memory and storage card, I chose storage card. Still working very well for me. Would be interesting to hear what others think
Guest amaltheos Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 I am having problems actually getting the text link to download the .jar. I actually get the link with the pin and a second confirming they charge my account after I put in the pin number but no text with a link in it. The tech support has been quite unhelpful. On the other hand I was able to install the EU version of the .jar but cannot use it with my US account. Can anyone PM me the .jar or host it?
Guest kouloufos Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 i have follow your guide and i find a problem when loading with file explorer the jar or jad file.....(i dont know who is the jar and jad but i try to run both of them) but when the jar or jad is loading and trying to install it say error can you please help me with the part : you will get a text message from blizz with a link after you enter the 4 digit pin. mine was http://wap.bizmobil.com/content/games/ws_u...15x15_1_0_0.jad (in place for the eight X's will be a unique key). enable the profile we created earlier in firefox and go to this link save the file go to the link again except this time change it to .jar at the end (from .jad)
