Guest wabe Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Hi I would like to reformat my SD-card in order to increase cache size. Would this procedure be safe (no loss of data and applications)? - Nandroid backup - Move backup to PC - Wipe and reformat card - Move backup back to SD card - Nandroid restore Grateful for help!

When I set it up the cache partition ended up too small. Does nandroid backup include the apps on ext3 partition? A minor point: I noticed that the recovery image file is on the FAT-partition I suppose this may safely be removed after being flashed?
Guest kendon Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 afaik nandroid does not include the ext partition and thereby does not backup the apps you installed on your sdcard, better be safe than sorry and back it up seperatly. you can delete the recovery image after flashing.

How do you back that up then? My computer does only "see" the FAT32 partition? I've heard of an add-on called "backup for root users" or something similar does that backup the ext3 partition?
