Guest mcmilliron Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Hey guys, I've been using Blazing Wolf's Neo 6.5 for about three months now, and when I flashed my phone, the first thing I noticed was the alignment screen would not accept my screen taps. I finally got it to align after many tries but I would have to tap below everything for my taps to register. After awhile I decided to flash back to the CF3 Verizon stock ROM but that didn't fix it, so I took it into Verizon. They almost instantly, without even testing the phone, ordered me a replacemnt. My replacement came a few days later, and the first thing I did was flash it back to the NEO 6.5 ROM, which by the way, is amazing compaired to the stock ROM. I had a little trouble with the alignment wizard but it took after a few tries. Everything seemed to be great for about a week, but then I noticed that my alignment was off again! So I started the screen alignment wizard again and tried to recalibrate it. Unfortunately, the issue returned. I am no longer able to calibrate the screen. Question: I had this phone with the CF2 Rom for at least six months running SPB Mobile Shell and had no screen alignment issues that I noticed. Is this a CF3 issue or is it a problem with the hacked 6.5 ROM's we're running? I'm having a hard time believing it's a hardware issue. Have any of you had this issue before you flashed to a 6.5 ROM?
Guest necosino Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 It's generally a windows mobile issue. There's a registry edit you can make to force the alignment program to accept your alignment settings, or you can remove that completely and import the "perfect" reg settings found around here.
Guest mcmilliron Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Hey, thanks for the reply NecoSino. I tried the "perfect" alignment reg on my old Omnia and it didn't fix the alignment issue. I also tried the reg hack that changes the error accuracy and allows the align wizard to complete, but it didn't fix the screen alignment either. So here is what I'm thinking, I need to press below everything for it to register my input, so can't I just change one of the registry values to fix this? Anyone know which of these values I need to change so I won't have to click below everything anymore? 519,503 177,881 182,129 847,127 849,872

Guest mcmilliron Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Thanks for the info Ansh. This is a replacement Omnia so I really hope the screen isn't going bad on it already. My old Omnia wouldn't align and the touch sensitivity was terrible! The replacement unit is at least 60% more sensitive, which I love, but it's already having screen alignment issues. This is driving me nuts! Why can't my Omnia just work. Did you have this issue before you flashed to 6.5?

I'm now on my third Omnia and so far it is fine; but so was the previous one at the beginning. If it continues you either have to live with it, or if it is under warranty then call Vzw and get them to replace it. As I said, I've had to do it twice now. /Chimp

Guest mcmilliron Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Chimp, Thanks for the reply. Do you think it has anything to do with us flashing to a 6.5 ROM? Mine seemed fine untill I started flashing.
Guest youngdosha31 Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 I thought the samething. When I flashed to 6.5 I started having alignment issues too. I'd have to ether click above what I wanted or below it sometimes. I am on my third omnia now and have had it for about a month. The alignment prob started up again after I dropped it from 6"(not high at all) on to carpet. it seems to get worst if the phone heats up too. I have also tried all the reg mods and non of em worked for me. Even the perfect settings were off. Maybe its a faulty hardware issue. Im on my third and my brother is on his 5th omnia and all our past omnia's have all been harware related returns. Well actually all of them have except one power plug issue. If ur still warrantied just tell verizon to replace it. After 3 replacements you are supposed to get a New Omnia not a refurbished one. I love my omnia. If it worrent for the alignment issues and battery life problem I would be a very happy omnia user but when the Droid comes out I'll probably switch to that.
Guest Turborepu Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 I was about to order my second omnia due to this issue(so that would have been my third time getting an omnia.) but since they had none near me I upgraded to another device. It gets worse over time and with me it has always been the left side of the screen, near where the charger plugs in.. but others have had it be in the middle.. I have no clue what causes it but it gets worse the longer you have it.. Thats why i Upgraded.. I figured if I didnt , i'd be gettin another omnia replaced in a few months for the same reason.
Guest mcmilliron Posted October 31, 2009 Report Posted October 31, 2009 Has any of you had this issue running a stock 6.1 Omnia Rom? I still want to know if flashing to a hacked 6.5 ROM might be causing some of the alignment issues. Thanks for all your replies! Mark

Guest sabinus Posted November 1, 2009 Report Posted November 1, 2009 Replae the touchscreen.. not the OMNIA, new touchscreens are better than original.. it'll cost you around 20 bucks / euros, but it will resolve your problem. I replaced mine around a month ago and still works smoothly.
Guest mcmilliron Posted November 1, 2009 Report Posted November 1, 2009 sabinus , What Rom are you running, and since you replaced your screen, does the align screen program work like it's supposed to? If you tried to align it right now, would it go through the first or second try?
