Hey guys---sorry if this is noob-ish, but I've been searching through these posts all morning, and haven't really seen what I guess I'm looking for? Was wondering if you had any ideas/suggestions for a first flash....doesn't need to be anything fancy, (I really like waremike32's series 8 base, for example), or have a ton of crap on there. Nor do I really care if it keeps the stock stuff, I just don't want something so bare bones it's unusable.....Would I be better off with something that has M2D2 instead?

So anyway, just hoping to get some suggestions/advice, thanks for the help!

I would advice you that your first flash is one oficial update from Samsung...

The another advice is that you spend time thinking what kind of use you do to the omnia..

What do you want it for?¿'..

Just for calls...

Do you often connect to internet...?¿'

Will you use a navigator with gps¿?¿'

It depends on what you want it for.You can flash with one or not...

There are a lot of cookers, with many roms and many opinions about that...

Now it depends on you...

Just one thing..read well the posts before flahing..I can tell you i have flashed more than 40 times and in several cases i have been scared...low battery...usb 1.0...but i have always flashed succesfully...

Instead of all in some cases there have been several cases where people haven´t got any succes...

My experience has told me there is no damage if you take your time and read well..and do all welll...

I hope this can help you... :D

Chances are if you just got your phone, it already has CF03 on it (The samsung update)

I would recommend mine, obviously, haha.. It's stripped down of most of the useless stuff (in my opinion at least) but is a move towards what I feel Windows Mobile should be like. That is: More finger friendly, easier to use, less hassle to do simple things, and of course, looking nicer.

You can find my guide to flashing here

And my ROM is here
