Wifi on i900 omnia never worked.

Wondering if i have a hardware issue with wifi on my omnia or I am not doing something right.

I have changed all channels on my router and tried all security settings from open, wep, wpa, wpa2, changing to wireless g in sktools, turning off power save mode in wifi and nothing seems to work. It finds the router sometimes(mostly nevever) but never connects just says available.

I have tried many different roms as well.

I am on current singapore rom DXIA5. Anyone else find it hard to connect to wifi. Is there a newer driver for this wifi on omnia sgh-i900? Not worth keeping it if it doesnt have wifi as i used it regularly on my previous N95. Please help!!

Wifi driver info says s/w: 0.4.3.1 h/w: 1.0

ya I had the same problem on DXIA5, but I flashed with khuanchai's custom and now it works with no problem.

Ok Tried the rom and still no luck. I think this might be a hardware issue. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

I have 2 Omnias ( 1 x 16gb model + 1x 8gb model)

The 16gb is a beauty , the screen touch via finger is perfect, no lag and all the HW works perfect. Now the 8gb... is a biatch ... the screen lag is attrocious.. need to use the stylus and the Wifi..hmmmm NO WAY will this mf connect.. says available.. u try and connect... says available.... :D

I have installed the same WM6.5 rom 23075 from Nick on both and have burned phone part DXD1. So problem not rom/phone specific.

seems auto DHCP not working.. and of course i cant type a xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx manual IP address cos the bloody rom only lets u enter 2 digits... thats also been reported b4 without a solution. Ive even exported and re-imported the 'comm' branch of the registry from 16gb to 8gb model ... No connection.

Im still playing around.....

So by reading h3xenoic post i assume that this is definitely a hardware issue from samsung. I cant believe that they would release such an issue after testing out their hardware before releasing it to the public. I have just tried numerous roms on this site and only one has worked but just for a minute and i still couldnt browse a website. This is not good at all. Very disapointed in the purchase of this phone cause of this wifi issue.

in some phone/ROM the issue is the operator bug...

try this:

-go to settings->connections->operator settings

-change the operator to another one...not yours

-tap ok

-then change again to the right operator

IT WORKS FOR ME!!!

IMHO Only Sector's Roms haven't this problem...(i dunno why).
