Guest lemmingzappa Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 (edited) I've just installed the latest MoDaCo ROM, Tecknologist's 1.8 kernel and latest Radio on my HTC Hero (UK Unlocked). Before I installed the MoDaCo ROM I performed as 'Wipe' as I assumed it was needed for my virgin Hero. But the problem is when I look inside my SDcard via AndroZip all my old files and folders are still there from before the flash. Is that supposed to happen, none of the apps actually appear installed on the phone but I think they are still actually taking up space somewhere. Is there a way to get rid of all my old files/folders/apps so it's completely fresh ? Secondly, is 'Apps to SD' actually needed as I have no idea how to use it or what it does properly. Guest lemmingzappa Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 I've just realised it's possible the apps are not actually using up space but some old folders are just left behind, I assume it should be safe and clean to just delete these unwanted folders or files on the card ? Would all of my old apps have been removed when I performed the wipe as i'm not actually sure where they are installed to ?
Guest clarkEEE1 Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 A wipe only wipes your phone not that the sd card so it is possible there is files on your sd card being used before you flashed just delete the folders you no longer need. And apps 2 sd stores all your programs that you install on your sd card (ext partition) is it does not use much internal memory. And yes your apps are wiped when you flash. If you have apps2 sd there installed on your sdcard so no need to reinstall after you have flashed.
