Is the calendar really that bad?

I'm having some issues with the calendar on my Hero.  For instance if I have an appointment which is set to notify the same time every week. Like:  "Dinner @ mums:  17.00" every Wednesday, but if I want to add a note to just one of these occurrences I can't. There is just a option to edit the whole series.   In addition to this problem, I have synced the phone to two computers with Outlook. Both computers have the same mail account with the same calendar, but the appointments gets duplicated on my phone. Very annoying. Anyone found a solution to this?

The calendar is quite limited. I don't like that you can't scroll left and right in agenda view. I haven't found an alternative yet.
