WM: kinetic & klick scrolling

hello, i hope this thread is not superfluous...

i try some of the new 6.5(.1) roms prefered with manila v2.0... and some roms got kinetic scrolling only, but the most includes terrible klick-scrolling by Windows-Mobile Standard... (And a few got both??)

is there a method to disable klick-scrolling or enable kinetic only? ...exept with FtouchSL.

i've tried to disable samsung scroll cooking a ROM with Ftouch as OEM...but nothing happens!

It's a matter of the build and porting of that build. Sometimes it works, sometimes it gets broken (either by the build or the porting process) Kinetic works in 23085 for me though on an i910.

You could try TouchResponse from XDA DEV.

Its built into some of the 6.5 roms and is excellent for kinetic scrolling and haptic feedback.

I believe that the click scrolling is a Samsung/omnia feature. In my experiance if you touch and hold on the area and then scroll you will get the smooth faster kinetic scrolling. The main workaround though is to simply install the FtouchSL demo but don't enable it. This replaces the samsung scrolling engine and leaves the WM6.5 scrolling working normally. YMMV, but that has worked for me.

few month ago i install ftouchSL and my omnia gets hard-reset... i will try it again with my new rom. thanks for answers :)

I've encounterd the same click scroll problem. The kinetic scroll works great in this ROM by Khuanchai, but he doesn't cook anymore ;) It would be good to know, how he got it working. I have tried a lot of newer 6.5 ROMs and a lot of them have the stupid click scroll. ;)

As people have said before; if you flash to a new rom with click scroll (which is something Samsung added to the Omnia to attempt some form of continuous scroll), just install FTouchSL and don't touch it. Don't enable it, activate it or change settings, and it will override WinMo's pathetic scrolling. I've tried about 15 different ROMs and it's worked on all of them. I'm currently on Ryrzy's 28014 M2D ROM, and this one comes with kinetic scrolling pre-working...
