Touchscreen, how to recognize the good one?

Hi,

I recently bought a second hand i900.

At first I thought that the touch screen was sluggish, but I couldn't be sure because it's the first time I have a touch screen phone.

With this question in my mind, I ran to this forum and I started to read all the posts about this topic.

The point is, that with the time, I'm getting used of the sensibility, and actually it's not true that I can use it just with nails and the stylus, but I can quite use the fingers too.

My question is: how can I understand if my touch screen is good enough? How can I know if it's work to b e upgrade? I bought the phone in a shop and I have a one year warranty, is it worth to check if they have a better one?

I haven't flashed any rom yet, so I don't know if with tweaking or new winmo it could get better enough to not worry me anymore.

The phone is a DXHG3 so presumably bought in Singapore (or thailandia? the phone supports the samsung navigator software and I found the tai map in).

Thank you very much for all your suggestions.

You should not have to press very hard to select something with finger.

If don't have to use your fingernail/stylus to select then you are ok...

It sounds to me like you have an omnia with good touchscreen in tact...

I had to replace my omnia touch panel because I could only get response when using my fingernail/stylus...

Seems like yours is ok, yes. However, keep in mind that the Omnia does not have the same touch response as HTC Touch HD etc...

thank you very much for your answers.

It's true that I can somehow use my fingers, but while I don't know if I'm actually pressing hard or not (by sure I don't touch it "lightly"), what annoy me most is that often the winmo does what I haven't asked for, i.e. while I scroll the list of programs, it opens a program (presumably because the pressure of my finger changed). Anyway it's far away from what I can see from the videos posted here :

I'm just wondering if trying to change the screen could be worth of it (mostly if it's a dangerous operation). Anyway I don't think my omnia is a "new" one.

I have an i910 and recently told VZ that my screen was too slow (which was partly true), they replaced it with a referbished phone and now my screen response is like an iPhone. I recommend claiming warrenty until you get an omnia with a good screen because some of the first one's have a horrible screen.
