TCPMP player question

After upgrading phones from an XDA Obit to an XDA Zest wanted to use my old phone for my 2 year old when in the car, have converted some of his DVDs and coppied them to the phone but was wondering if there is a way to lock the screen while using TCPMP player, cos i cant get it playing again while driving.

is there a way to lock the screen while playing video ( would considder using a different player if needed but would prefer using tcpmp if possible)
