Guest McCyberfly Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 (edited) Hello everyone :D I've come across an issue with my Samsung Omnia i900 that seemingly nobody on the Net has ever mentioned before, although it's quite a pain in the... I bought my Omnia from a Czech reseller, to unfortunately find out WinMo 6.1 on it is only licensed for a specific language that cannot be changed. That is NOT THE ISSUE, however. What I wanted to be able to do - at the very least - was switch my local settings to English (US) to have date, time, currency and other data on my phone displayed in a manner I'm more used to. After doing so, I was startled to see that all installed apps have stopped to work correctly. More precisely, all links (shortcuts) to them stopped to work. The reason being that in Czech, storage card is named "Moje uloziste" with some special chars in it. Unfortunately, when local settings are changed to English, these special chars get screwed up in shortcuts to apps, thus making it only possible to run these apps directly from file manager, not via shortcuts though. Of course, it is possible to manually change every shortcut file for every single app on my PC and transfer it back to Omnia but that is way too ineffective. Therefore, my question is: Can you forceably rename the storage card path (folder/partition/whatever it is) from "Moje uloziste" to "My Storage"? And no, registry editing doesn't seem to do the job, tried renaming registry values with no effect on the card's name whatsoever. Thank you in advance for any help or hint. Regards, Cyberfly :D UPDATE: WOOT !!! :D :D :D I seem to have figured it out. It is indeed possible to rename Storage Card by editing the registry, all it required was a soft reset of my Omnia. My storage card is now officially called "My Storage" and apps seem to be working in US English environment, including the shortcuts. Not sure which particular registry key is responsible for that (changed about 4 of them) but will try to find out and get back with the results soon! Thanks everyone for the great support, lol :) :D Woot ! :D Edited November 8, 2009 by McCyberfly
