While having the stock ROM from HTC, I installed te RA-recovery and it worked out just fine. Had a little trouble with the 2.9 ROM so did a few backup restores and ended up installing the 2.9 ROM with a wiped phone using the cyanogen 1.4 recovery image (since I already had that from the backup).

I just thought I wouldnt have any problems installing the new RA-recovery image with the 2.9 ROM, but that's where I was wrong...

If you get “Could not run command”, then your firmware is patched.

What does that even mean? Is the MCR 2.9 patched with something that wont allow me to install any other recovery images?

In advance, thanks for all your help! Love this forum...

it means that the security hole in the firmware has been patched, that allowed us to install custom recovery images. the mcr2.9 is sure as hell NOT patched :)

maybe some more details about what you are doing and where exactly you are failing would help. try to go through the process from the recovery image install thread in the stickies!
